Set the 4 dip switches inside the battery compartment to match those on the old remote. There are 16 different frequencies for Hampton Bay fans, so you may have to play around with the combinations to find the right one.

For safety precautions, note that this remote system is not compatible with ceiling fans that have a built-in remote.
